from pub to house, sourhall

this grade ii listed pub was derelict and in a very poor state of
repair when it was purchased by the clients for conversion into
a home.

we obtained planning and listed building consent for
demolition of part of the existing structure, change of use into
a dwelling and the creation of two new extensions

the site is in an exposed hill-top location so the clients decided
that they would like a highly insulated structure with
under-floor heating and whole house ventilation system with
heat recovery. these systems are powered by a ground source
heat pump and solar panels which are located on a bank to
the rear of the property.

the bore hole for the ground source heat pump also provides
the property with drinking water.
